Adult Faith Formation

Adult faith formation, by which people consciously grow in the life of Christ through experience, reflection, prayer and study, should be a central task in your Christian journey. The mission for the leaders of our adult faith formation opportunities is to facilitate the process of creating adult discipleship that is a living, fruitful and explicit profession of faith.

If you are interested in participating in on of our parish’s ongoing adult education series, watch the parish calendar or the bulletin for opportunities. Meanwhile, if you are being called to lead your own faith study, contact the parish for resources and help spreading the news of your program.

Fellowship and Service

Opportunities for fellowship for members of the parish throughout the year provide a chance to meet fellow parishioners and support the idea of community within the parish. Volunteers help organize and maintain existing events and create new opportunities to encourage stronger relationships in our Church family. Examples of past events include fellowship by providing coffee and rolls after Sunday Mass and other social events. Provide funding for special events in the parish community.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Social Concerns Committee

We are called to serve the less fortunate than ourselves and to make a difference in our world. This call is integral, not optional to our faith. The Gospel compels us to act in service to one another. This committee, through their bond of Christian love and commitment, involves itself with the social justice and service issues of the parish and community. Qualifications needed are simple, but profound: A willingness to reach out and help the less fortunate.

Knights of Columbus

At Assumption, we’re beyond blessed to have active Knights of Columbus. From the moment of their national founding in 1882, charity has been the first principle of the Knights, both nationally and locally here in Morris. They are men of faith and men of and action.

The group’s charitable activities encompass a variety of local, national and international projects. From international charitable partnerships with Special Olympics, the Global Wheelchair Mission and Habitat for Humanity to their own Food for Families and Coats for Kids projects and other purely local charities, the opportunity to work together with fellow Knights and their families is endless.

If you’d like to be a part of an international organization of more than 1.8 million Catholic men whose principal work involves helping others in need, contact our Grant Knight:
